      1. Disable certain Indexing Services

Indexing Services may seem like a small program however it uses large amounts of RAM and can actually make a computer  noisy. This indexing proccess updates lists of all the files that are on your PC. It does this so that when you do a search for something on your computer, it will find it faster by scanning the index lists. For all practical purposes this whole proccess is unneccesary. Here is  how you disable it.

        B. Click-Settings
        C. Click-Control Panel
        D. Double-click Add/Remove Programs

        F. Uncheck-the Indexing services
        G. Click-Next

          3. Show translucent selection rectangle
          4. Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop
          5. Use visual styles on windows and buttons

      3. Speed-up Folder Browsing

You may have noticed that everytime you open my computer to browse folders it takes a few seconds to respond.         H. Reboot your computer

      4. Disk Cleanup.

        A. Click-the start button, and move your cursor to "all programs" and it will open a list of programs on its own.
        B. Go to Accessories, then system tools and Disk Cleanup.
        C. When you first click disk cleanup, it will take a few seconds to tabulate the list of proccesses, just wait!
        D. A box will open showing all of the areas, and at the bottom are your choices, click or cancel, just hit OK.
        E. Another box will open up asking if you are sure you want to perform these actions, just click yes!

      5. Use Disk defragmenter on your pc at least once a month and this helps quite a bit. When you use this process, you will actually be able to see what your files look like before and after you started this process.

WARNING: If you have never used the defragmenter before, or it has been a long time, the process may take up to several  hours to complete, however this will help your computers performance incredibly, just be prepared to have your computer tied up for a while!

        A. Click the start button, and go to "all programs" and it will open on its own.
        B. Go to Accessories, then system tools, and disk defragmenter.
        C. Before you click on defragment, look at the situation your files are in, and be prepared to leave your computer alone for a while.
        D. After this is done, it will ask if you want to see a report or click out. Just click out, because the information is generally techy, and it is much more important to know how to do this, then the specific information.
